Thank you so much everybody, our fans for all your love and spirit over the years, the state of Berlin and the jury for honouring us, and Chefket for holding down such an amazing laudatory speech for us!! We love you all, many more years to come, with us together, yours The SWAG!!

Der Einladung der Berlin Music Commission folgten mehr als 300 illustre Gäst*innen aus der Berliner Musikbranche, um im Kesselhaus den Preisträger*innen die Ehre zu erweisen. Dear fans, supporters, families and people,
like all music artists in the world, the crisis hit us hard. But, even it got a bit quieter about us, no fear, we are still here and we are still in the making!
From september, we already could do a couple of very nice shows in Berlin and at legendary places: the WEEKEND CLUB, the YAAM, the BADEHAUS and in HAU at the 'RADICAL MUTATION'.
In October, we are invited to do six exclusive shows at two different ATP-tournaments in Germanys biggest hall, the LANXESS ARENA in Cologne.
Moreover, we use our time composing and preparing a couple of new songs, and we hope to present them to you as soon as possible.
We are very confident the pandemic situation will be better soon, certainly we will be back and we will be better than ever, stay healthy and tuned,

10 Memories from Berlin’s Ever Iconic SWAG Jam
Well-kept secret to some, legendary stalwart to others, The SWAG JAM has seen a lot since its 2011 inception. Founded by the seven-piece band of the same name, it’s become a focal point for the hip-hop scene – not just here in Berlin, but internationally.
As we look ahead to their New Years Eve show (Badehaus, more here), we asked the guys to recount some of their favourite memories from their illustrious run so far. With acts from over 50 countries joining them over the years – including huge guest such as Erykah Badu, Dead Prez, Bilal, Smif-N-Wessun and many more – it’s seen The SWAG themselves become a “more than a band… a multicultural family”.

For the first time in his career the king of afrobeat 2Face aka 2Baba is coming to Berlin to play for y’all. Not only is he consistently ranked as one the best African musicians of all-time but his track record over the last 15 years deservedly earned him the description of an Nigerian Music legend.
Several hit albums and awards, including the MTV, MOBOS, Kora, Headies, City People, Nigeria Music Awards. He has collaborated with numerous acts including Wyclef Jean and Beanie Man.

Words are simply not enough to describe last night (26th march 2019) at the SWAG JAM. It was pure magic! The vibe was insane - right from the start.
And as if it wasn’t enough that we had RAS KASS and the BACK4DAFIRSTTIME crew on stage with us, Turkey‘s most talented rap export EZHEL joined the open mic!
And then ERYKAH BADU and RC WILLIAMS entered the stage and jammed with us. Shout out to the universe and everybody who vibed with us that night. We are still in awe!

THE SWAG:
The SWAG is the incarnation of an underground phenomenon. With more than 500 shows the seven-member band has been an integral part of the international hip-hop scene for over 7 years. For many the SWAG enjoy the status of a 'living legend'. As early as 2011, they founded the SWAG JAM Session, a weekly event and mix of concert, open mic jam and party which aligns the band in their musical living room - the Badehaus Berlin. They played with so many celebrities and musical heavyweights that even the band has a hard time remembering them all. They came from over 50 countries and from all five continents: Dead Prez, Bilal, Robert Glasper, Sean Price, Jeru the Damaja, Kool Savas, Marteria, Chefket, Amewu, Matador, Keur Gui, Juliani, Rapadura, Dub FX or Seth Sentry to name just a few.
The SWAG is more than a band. The SWAG are a multicultural family and they are now seven years old. Time to celebrate with them: they grew up together, children were born and marriages were closed and still they play a show at least once a week. There is no reason to change that. Celebrating one more reason in our fast-paced time and letting The SWAG live up to it. This is what we want to do now with a whole night of music, on two floors and together with special guests, live acts, DJs and many friends.

"KEUR GUI gelten als eine der sichtbarsten und engagiertesten Hip-Hop-Gruppen auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent. Die beiden Musiker und Mitbegründer der Protestbewegung Y'EN A MARRE ("Wir haben es satt") Kilifeu und Thiat gerieten bereits als Jugendliche mit den autoritären Tendenzen im politischen System des Senegal in Konflikt und verbüßten mehrere Haftstrafen. Trotzdem sind sie ihren Grundsätzen, schlechter Regierungsführung und Ignoranz mit intelligenten Texten zu Leibe zu rücken, Kunst niemals zu kommerzialisieren und dem korrupten System die Stirn zu bieten, immer treu geblieben.
2011/2012 waren sie maßgeblich an der Protestbewegung im Senegal beteiligt, die zur Abwahl des ungeliebten Präsidenten Abdoulaye Wade führte. Ihre Einladungen als Musiker und Vertreter der senegalesischen Zivilgesellschaft haben Keur Gui unter anderem nach Spanien, Indien und immer wieder nach Burkina Faso geführt, wo die bekennenden Anhänger von Thomas Sankara an zahlreichen politischen Veranstaltungen und Hip-Hop-Festivals teilgenommen haben.
Anlässlich der BERLINALE, in dessen Rahmen der Dokumentarfilm "The Revolution Won't Be Televised" gezeigt wird, führt es KEUR GUI nun nach Berlin, wo sie als Special Guests zum stadtbekannten SWAG JAM im Badehaus eingeladen sind!"
